Positive mindset

30 October 2017

Carlos Carvalhal issued a strong message of positivity ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Millwall.

The Owls are aiming to get back to winning ways under the lights at Hillsborough and the head coach is focusing on only the positives ahead of the game.

A long range stunner denied Wednesday the victory in Saturday’s derby with Barnsley but the Owls are back in action on Tuesday, where Carlos says it is important to fill S6 with positivity.

He said: “This competition is really very hard and it shows in a period when we are not doing very well, we are really not that far away from others.

“We are not doing so well but we are inside the things, we are not far away from the things and this is the good part of the competition.

“We want to put the positive things around us because the negatives are no good to anybody.

“Which is why today I am smiling a little more because I woke up feeling I must be positive because if I am not positive, I will not help nobody.

“We need to put our players focused to the game to receive positive energy to go and win.”

The Lions head to Hillsborough undefeated in their last two outings with clean sheets in their victory over Birmingham and goalless draw at Cardiff.

Carlos added: “We must be with some patience to open the defensive organisation and I expect a difficult game.

“But we are happy to be back at home again with good expectations tomorrow.

“We can turn the things, it is something we have in our hands now let’s do it. This is the way we must act.”
