The Owls Under-18s suffered their third defeat on the spin on Saturday at Leeds.
Wednesday stormed into a two-goal lead as strikes from Layton Swaine and Liam Waldock saw the visitors look comfortable ten minutes before the break.
But Ben Wilkinson’s side saw their advantage halved in unfortunate circumstances on 36 minutes, as a looping effort found it’s way past goalkeeper Joe Walker via a wicked deflection.
From there, the hosts rallied and drew level a minute before the interval as the momentum swung in favour of United.
And so that proved after the restart as Leeds hit three second half goals to run out comfortable 5-2 winners.
The Owls will be aiming to bounce back on Saturday as they travel to Hull City in the 11.00am kick-off.
