Owls captain Glenn Loovens is looking to the Leeds game as a big opportunity for his side to get back on track.
The skipper has complete confidence that Wednesday can put the setbacks from last week to bed and move forward, starting on Sunday in the Yorkshire derby.
The defender has been sidelined with a hip injury but was in a buoyant mood on Friday in front of the media after a strong week in full training with the squad.
And the captain had a message for the fans this weekend ahead of the crunch clash with the Whites.
“When things get tough, the supporters can help us so much,” the Dutchman said. “The support they give to us is vital and it gives us that little bit extra.
“I can tell you as an experienced player, the support that they can give does a lot to a player.
“You know all about it when you feel them right behind you and this is what we will need on Sunday.
“Sunday is a good opportunity for us. There is always another game, that is what is good about this league.”
Loovens added: “We want to do it for the fans, for the manager, for everyone connected with the club.
“But also, we want to do ourselves proud. I know the players in this dressing room and believe me when I tell you, they’ll be up for this.”
