Passion and pride

26 September 2017

During a pre-match press conference full of passion, pride and determination, Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal looked to the future, starting with tomorrow’s trip to Birmingham.

After Wednesday’s second defeat of the campaign at home to the Blades on Sunday, Carlos has 100% faith in his players to produce a typical Wednesday reaction.

Throughout his two years plus at the club, the Owls have issued a strong reaction after each setback and the Portuguese now looks to the future with full confidence in his players and staff at the club.

Prior to the defeat on Sunday, the Owls had enjoyed a good run of form in the Championship and looking forward to the Blues clash, Carlos said:

“We are the same team. We have players with a big commitment and ready and looking forward to the next games to try to win each one.

“I have a big responsibility, I am in front of a team that will play an important Championship game tomorrow.

“I must put my players focused on this game and forget the past, just this.

“I feel very strong to the future and to my players. I can’t change the past, I must live with the present and look to the future with my players.

“Everybody hurt, we were hurt. But we have a game tomorrow. Birmingham is the most important game because it is the next one.

“All the games are important, we always try to fight for the three points. We believe our team react very fast after defeat and give good answers.

“We want a good answer tomorrow from our players and our team, it’s what we expect from the game.

“If they play with heart and in our usual high level, I will be happy for sure.”
