We never hide

Carlos Carvalhal says the Leeds game on Sunday cannot come soon enough as the head coach looks forward to the Yorkshire derby.

Although hurting from back to back defeats, Carlos was in high spirits during Friday’s pre-match press conference and says all focus is firmly on Leeds.

“I feel hurt like the fans but I am completely ready for this moment,” Carlos emphatically explained.

“I am strong, I feel very, very strong with my team.

“Maybe it will sound very strange from a coach in this situation but I am really looking forward to this game on Sunday.

“I want to play this game, I want to see my players play, I want to see what my players can do against a strong opponent, I want to feel the atmosphere, I want to see the fans and I am looking forward to the game.

“I am not afraid about nothing, I never hide, I am here, I give my face all the time and I am ready to the game.”

Wednesday hosts the Whites, who have begun the season in strong fashion but will arrive at Hillsborough on the back of successive away defeats.

Carlos added: “I want this game to come because I am looking forward to it, I want to enjoy the football that we play and try to win the game.

“I am ready to this and very comfortable in my mind about all the situations.”
