Weeks, months and years

Carlos Carvalhal will return to the touchline this weekend after serving his two-match ban.

The Owls head coach sat in the stands at Hillsborough as Wednesday hosted Nottingham Forest and Brentford.

A long trip to the Welsh capital is next-up this weekend, where Carlos will take up his usual place pitchside.

“It is not because I was on the touchline or in the stands that we win the games,” he explained. “I talked about this in the past.

“The things we are expressing on the pitch are the things we have been working on for weeks, months and years.

“Not because one guy is on the touchline or not. Of course, there are a few things we can do on the touchline to help correct things.

“When we were under pressure in the last game, we must correct some things to give more emotional connection, so that we press a little more so the opponent doesn’t come back as much.

“These little things we can do help a lot but we are working very hard every day in the training to this very tough competition to fight for the three points in all the games.”
