Alex Hunt receives LFE Apprentice of the Year nomination

4 April 2018

Owls academy midfielder Alex Hunt has been nominated for the LFE Championship Apprentice of the Year award.

The winner will be announced at the EFL awards ceremony, which take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday 15 April.

It has been a big year for the 17-year-old, who has been with the club since the age of seven and signed his first professional contract in February 2018.

It marked an excellent spell for the youngster who, just the week prior to penning his maiden contract, scored a wonderful free kick in the Owls’ 3-1 victory away at Sheffield United.

The League Football Education has already recognised the Under-18s skipper this season for his achievements on and off the pitch.

Hunt was named in February’s LFE ‘The 11’, which acknowledges the football and academic progress of Under-18s players at English league clubs, as well as their work in the community, as judged by the LFE’s team of regional officers.

Also nominated are Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and Reading’s Danny Loader.
