Owls wait on Bannan

9 April 2018

Owls midfielder Barry Bannan has been ruled out of the trip to QPR on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old was substituted in the first half of the weekend clash with Fulham.

A groin injury saw the influential midfielder sidelined in early December. He made his comeback in the victory over Leeds last month.

Manager Jos Luhukay said: “Barry Bannan is with the doctor in this moment.

“He has had a scan and today we will know the situation.

“We hope that Barry can play in the next games but tomorrow is too early for him.

“In the worst case, he will be out until the end of the season but we will have more information today.

“It is very disappointing; and a similar situation with Sam Hutchinson who played two times and is now out for the season.

“We hope Barry will play again this season, they are both players with quality and important players so it is a loss for us.”
