Supporter safety reminder

16 April 2018

Sheffield Wednesday are reminding supporters of their conduct whilst following the team both at Hillsborough and away from home.

Recent incidents of unacceptable behaviour have been brought to the club’s attention and those responsible will be sanctioned in the strictest possible way if identified, together with their details being passed to the respective police force.

Sanctions include up to three-year and lifetime bans if deemed neceasary.

Firstly, against Fulham at Hillsborough on Saturday 7 April, the match referee reported an incident of coin throwing from the North Stand area of the stadium.

Then, at Hull City on Saturday 14 April, two flares were released from the away section of the KCOM Stadium.

Incidents of this nature are not only dangerous - putting supporters and officials in serious physical danger - but also criminal offences.

Sheffield Wednesday have a zero tolerance policy to these and any other incidents that break the law and/or breach ground regulations.

Thank you for your co-operation.
