Jos Luhukay says he has fresh motivation each day to work with the players and heads to Hillsborough on Saturday with confidence in the team.
While the opening day of the campaign didn’t go Wednesday’s way, the manager has been buoyed by the reaction of his players on the training pitch.
As the Owls host Hull in the first home game of the 2018/19 campaign, Luhukay wants his side to perform in front of the fans at Hillsborough, as he explained:
“My motivation is to work every day with these players,” he said.
“What I saw from the fans on Saturday was unbelievably positive, over 4,500 of them went to our game at Wigan.
“What they give us during the 90 minutes is the reason I’m here now, they give me so much motivation.”
The theme from Thursday’s pre-match press conference was one very much of looking forward with positivity and aiming to better last weekend’s performance in all departments.
He added: “That’s why every day we all have full focus on the next game, it’s what I want to do to try to bring the very best out of all the team.
“Together, we must try to do it better on Saturday than we did last week.”
