Barry Bannan will sit out the Owls’ next two fixtures after accruing ten yellow cards.
The midfield man picked up his tenth caution during Saturday’s draw with Rotherham at Hillsborough.
As a result, Bannan has been handed a two-match ban, taking in the trip to Swansea this Saturday and home game with Preston on 22 December.
The Scottish international will return to the fold when Wednesday visit Middlesbrough on Boxing Day.
