Bullen looks forward to bumper Hillsborough crowd

30 December 2018

With a bumper crowd expected at Hillsborough on New Year’s Day, Lee Bullen says the S6 Birmingham clash is one to look forward to.

Ticket sales have been strong for the Owls’ opening game of the new calendar year against the Blues.

And following a turnaround of form and three positive performances under caretaker boss Bullen, the former Owls captain wants that to continue on Tuesday.

“The fans have been through a lot of ups and down in the last calendar year, that’s for sure," he said.

“But hopefully the last three performances have lifted a few heads and with a bumper crowd at Hillsborough, I hope the lads can go out there and put on another good performance.

“If we can put on a good performance then the result will take care of itself.

“There is big room for improvement in 2019 and we all accept that. There are over 20 games left and we want to finish as high as we can.”

The Blues are enjoying a strong campaign and head to Hillsborough occupying seventh spot, four points shy of the play-off positions.

Bullen continued: “There is nothing to fear. We know Garry Monk’s side have been on a heck of a run of form.

“They are up there challenging for the play-off positions and it will be a tough, tough game.

“But from our last three performances, you can see the confidence, belief and spirit coming back.

“We look forward to the game but we know it will be difficult.”

Tickets for the New Year’s Day fixture are just £20 in all stands for adults.
