Wharncliffe Side Primary School recently submitted paintings to the Owls first team after completing a class project about Sheffield artist Pete McKee.

The class had been learning about Mckee’s work and, with their connection with SWFCCP PL Primary Stars, they decided to paint the Sheffield Wednesday squad.

The players who received their paintings were impressed and signed them for the youngsters to say thank you.

Mr Hartley, class teacher, said: “My class love Pete McKee’s artwork and it complemented our Sheffield topic work.

“They were even more excited to learn that the players might get to see their artistic efforts!

“I think they turned out really well. WAWAW.”

Oliver, pupil, said: “When I heard we were drawing in Pete McKee’s style I was over the moon.

“My player to paint was Barry Bannan. I tried to do my best and I didn’t want to make a mistake because he’s my favourite player.

“It turned out great!”

Kaitlyn, pupil, said, "I had a lot of fun drawing the pictures. I was really surprised and happy when I found out that Tom Lees liked mine!"

Well done Wharncliffe Side Primary School!
