Vote for your December Player of the Month

31 December 2018

Owls fans can now vote for their swfc.co.uk December Player of the Month.

The vote will remain open until Thursday 3 January, when the winner will be announced.

Wednesday began the month with a 4-2 defeat away at Blackburn.

Lucas Joao and Barry Bannan were on target at Ewood Park but a Danny Graham hat-trick ensured the Owls left empty handed.

Joao continued his scoring run next time out at Hillsborough, scoring a double in the 2-2 draw with Rotherham.

Swansea inflicted a 2-1 defeat on the Owls at The Liberty Stadium but under caretaker manager Lee Bullen, Wednesday were back to winning ways at Hillsborough against Preston.

Michael Hector nodded home the winning goal – his first for the club - from Josh Onomah’s ball into the box.

Heading to Middlesbrough on Boxing Day as underdogs, Wednesday then upset the odds and made it back to back victories and clean sheets at The Riverside.

Ex-Boro boy Adam Reach scored the game’s only goal from a sublime Barry Bannan assist.

And it was so nearly three wins on the spin on Saturday but for a late, late West Brom equaliser at The Hawthorns.

Atdhe Nuhiu struck first after three minutes but deep into added time after the 90, former Wednesday man Chris Brunt popped up inside the box to break Owls hearts at the last.
