Sheffield Wednesday would like to announce that John Redgate has stood down from the club’s board of Directors.

Following the arrival of Chief Executive Officer Katrien Meire, and confirmation of her appointment to the SWFC board, John has now stood down, but will continue in his role as Finance Director.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri said: “I am grateful for all the help John has given me since he was appointed to the board.

“He has helped me to look after the club whilst I have been out of the UK and more importantly given me the time to appoint a new Chief Executive.

“I had agreed with John on his appointment to the board in June 2016 that once a new Chief Executive Officer was in place, he would stand down and with Katrien Meire appointed to that role, that time has now come.”

John Redgate said: “I am pleased that the club has now found a new Chief Executive and I have enjoyed my time serving as a member of the board.

“This was a temporary appointment during a period when the club was without a Chief Executive Officer and I will now continue in my role of Finance Director.

“The club has made significant progress in the past 18 months and I am sure it will continue to grow and flourish under the chairman’s ownership.”
