Owls midfielder Matt Penney made his debut for loan club Mansfield on Saturday against League Two promotion rivals Swindon.
The versatile Wednesday youngster came off the bench in the 68th minute during the Stags’ trip to The County Ground.
Mansfield were narrowly edged out 1-0 but remain well placed in League Two, just three points from the automatic promotion positions.
Penney joined the Stags on transfer deadline day on a loan deal until the end of the season and will be pushing to make his maiden appearance at Field Mill on Tuesday, when Mansfield welcome Newport County.
