Jos Luhukay has taken the positives from a challenging week at Middlewood Road.
The Wednesday boss was present at Bramall Lane on Monday evening as the Under-23s turned in an accomplished performance to seal a 2-0 win over the Blades.
With injury and suspension concerns to consider for Saturday’s trip to Barnsley, Luhukay says he has been impressed with how players from the club’s Under-23s have stepped up this week in training.
He said: “What I see from the last days, the Under-23s have been very positive.
“On Monday, I looked to our 23s, they had the game against United and I saw the players with a very good performance.
“So in the last days and also today and tomorrow, they are training four, five and six players with us in the first team and maybe one of them will play in the first 11 on Saturday.
“I’m happy with what I see in the last days.
“Last Saturday is the past and what we can do is try this weekend to make the best performance with the players we have.
“The players have given me a good feeling so now they must be ready to give Saturday a good game for us.”
