Opportunity to impress

23 January 2018

David Jones welcomes Friday’s clash with Reading and says the FA Cup-tie presents an opportunity for the Owls to continue their solid start under manager Jos Luhukay.

Wednesday have posted four successive clean sheets, three of which have come under the new Owls boss.

With that solid base intact, Jones is keen to see the progress continue in the cup on Friday evening against the Royals and said:

“I feel we need games at the moment.

“The more games there are, the more opportunities there are to show ourselves to the new manager and for him to look at all the players.

“It’s also a good chance to put into practise what we are learning on the training field.

“Away at Carlisle I thought it was a good performance, but the replay allowed us to play another game under the new manager.

“We have a good home game against Reading to look forward to and it’s one that we feel we can progress in.”
