For the first time on Tuesday evening, manager Jos Luhukay will be in the dugout at Hillsborough as Wednesday host Carlisle in the FA Cup third round replay.
The cup-tie at Brunton Park earlier this month ended goalless with Luhukay watching on from the stands, having been appointed the previous evening.
Owls defender Daniel Pudil says it’s important not to look too far ahead and focus on each game as it comes, after making a pleasing start under the new boss at Bramall Lane on Friday.
He said: “We have to go game by game, we went into the Sheffield derby at Bramall Lane on Friday to give our best and I think we did that.
“We have to focus on the next game now which is Tuesday in the cup. Focus on one game at a time because that is the best way to go about it and don’t think too far ahead.
“The cup games are important to us, we always want to go as far as we can.
“We’ll prepare as best as we can to play in the cup and hopefully we can win the game, get to the next round and see what will happen.
“We want to show the manager we are a good group and good players.
“All the players want to play and you have to take your chances and perform well in the team.”
Either Reading or Stevenage await in the fourth round, with the replay of that fixture also taking place on Tuesday at The Madejski Stadium (7.45pm).
