Owls launch #BeWise campaign

We need you and your data!

The Owls are today launching a brand new supporter campaign aimed at replenishing our internal email database.

Over the coming weeks and months, fans will become familiar with the #BeWise hashtag as we ask Wednesdayites worldwide to opt in and receive emails direct from Hillsborough.

The introduction of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in May this year triggered huge change and saw global database numbers fall dramatically for every organisation, including SWFC.

On the football front, clubs have since been urging supporters to re-register their data details in order to receive regular email communications.

The Owls are no different but an enormous number of fans have yet to re-register, resulting in a database deficit for the club of over 40,000 subscribers.

Think of the play-off final following we took to the Millennium Stadium and Wembley for that number to sink in!

Naturally, we need to restore our tally to previous levels and beyond – which is where #BeWise and you enter the field of play.

And let’s be clear from the kick-off, this is not so to spam supporters with ‘junk mail’ – all communications from S6 contain key and tailored information on your club.

Email recipients also benefit from fantastic exclusives. For example, existing subscribers were the very first to see Wednesday’s brand new home strip design for the 2018/19 campaign.

The process of opting in could not be easier – just register a valid email address HERE and follow the instructions.

You will have full control over what information you receive and you can unsubscribe at any point by managing your preferences online via your account.
