The first edition of ‘Wednesday’, showcasing the brand new cover feature for the 2018/19 campaign, is available on Saturday for the Owls’ final pre-season friendly against Spanish side Villarreal.
Throughout the season a member of the Wednesday first team squad and official photographer Steve Ellis will visit an area of Sheffield, either for its iconic status or aesthetics, to create an eye-catching cover for the Owls’ award-winning matchday programme.
Our first cover sees defender Jordan Thorniley visit the Sheffield Cathedral in the centre of the city.
The Cathedral is the oldest building in Sheffield still in daily use, making it the perfect place to start our tour of the Steel City.
Last season’s covers proved popular with supporters, as they took a trip down memory lane to poignant occasions in the Owls’ 150-year history.
‘Wednesday’ received a coveted merit award last time out for its ‘outstanding excellence’ over a five-year period, and broke a record with the mammoth 150-page edition to mark the special anniversary.
