Owls forward Fernando Forestieri was delighted for the team following an emphatic 4-1 victory over Preston at Hillsborough on Good Friday.
The Argentinian made his Owls return from injury as a second half substitute, scoring Wednesday’s fourth goal from a free kick in added time.
Atdhe Nuhiu had earlier bagged a brace and Lucas Joao scored a header which made Louis Moult’s goal a mere consolation.
Forestieri said: “I am very happy because I feel good and we won and this is important.
“I needed to do a long warm up so I was ready, then the manager called me over and I was very excited to get on the pitch!
“It was a good free kick and more importantly now we need to be strong to finish well this season.”
It was a solid team performance in front of the home crowd, and the striker says the squad have a strong bond.
He added: “We are fighting together and we suffer together, this is our team.
“I am very happy for the group and for the coach because he needed a good win like that, it’s good for him, the players and the club.
“Now we need to look forward to the future and the next game.”
