Sheffield Wednesday midfielder James Murphy has joined Los Angeles Football Club.
International clearance has now been granted for the move to go ahead and the 20-year-old joins the club ahead of their inaugural Major League Soccer campaign, which begins against Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
Murphy signed professional terms with the Owls in July 2016 and has been a regular in the Owls Development Squad during his time at Hillsborough.
The USA man played a big part in the club’s PDL2 title success in 2016/17 – a season which also saw Murphy make his first and only Owls appearance in the League Cup clash at Cambridge.
