Reach bags Owls Player of the Year award

4 May 2018

Adam Reach has been voted as the 2017/18 swfc.co.uk Player of the Year.

Owls fans have voted in their thousands for the main end of season award and the 25-year-old has topped the poll with an impressive 55%.

The former Middlesbrough man has risen to the fore this season, becoming a mainstay in the side and a huge asset with his adaptability and quality across the pitch proving valuable for the club.

In total, Reach has made 52 appearances in all competitions, featuring in every game for the Owls and chipping in with four goals – two of which bagged the Owls ace the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award.

Opening his account for the season with goals against Barnsley and Millwall, it was his strike against Aston Villa which made the headlines.

Reach fired home a superb dipping half volley from range at Villa Park just 18 seconds into the contest to stun the hosts.

That strike was voted as the Championship’s November Goal of the Month and Reach claimed the same award for December, with another thunderbolt strike in the 3-0 win away at The City Ground.

The presentation of the Player of the Year trophy will be made shortly before kick-off on Sunday as the Owls host Norwich in the season finale.

The result of the vote was as follows:

1. Adam Reach 55%
2. Atdhe Nuhiu 30%
3. Joe Wildsmith 7%

Thank you to all supporters who took part in the SWFC Player of the Year vote.
