Sheffield will unite this evening before the Steel City derby to pay respects to members of the armed forces, past and present.
The Owls take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane and both sides will be wearing poppies on their jerseys for the occasion.
Bugler Glyn Beyington will play the Last Post before the stadium observes a minute’s silence prior to kick off.
The game is both sides’ nearest fixture to Remembrance Sunday, 11 November, and also marks 100 years since the armistice which ended the First World War.
We ask all supporters to take their seats in good time just before kick-off to ensure the minute’s silence is fittingly observed.
Thank you for your co-operation.
