We must do it better

5 November 2018

Jos Luhukay wants to see the Owls revert to the stability and consistency shown prior to the international break that saw his side steadily climb into the top six.

Since the resumption, Wednesday have fallen to their worst run of the campaign with four successive defeats.

But with a Sheffield derby on the horizon, and the need to reverse the slide, Luhukay says his side must do better in order to return to form.

“We have before the international break more stability where we only lost one in nine games,” he said.

“We did that with more consistency. But on this moment in the last two weeks, it’s not what we like but it’s what we have and we must try to clear this situation.

“So we start again and we believe we can do it better.”

The first Steel City derby of the season takes place on Friday at Bramall Lane.

The Owls boss took charge of his first game in this fixture last season which finished as a goalless draw in S2.

He continued: “We know derbies are always special for the players and fans.

“We will try to find our best way and direction for Friday.

“We must do it together and work hard to find the best solutions with the options that we have.”

Luhukay’s live pre-match press conference will be held on Thursday live on the official SWFC Facebook page, more details of which will be published in due course.
