Charity begins at home

22 October 2018

Members of the local, national and international media have once again shown support for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice on matchdays here at Hillsborough.

Journalists utilising the Owls’ hospitality at home matches are given the opportunity to donate £1 to the local charity for their pre-match offerings, and last season’s total came in at an impressive £403.03.

Owls supporters, and Bluebell Wood representatives, Kevin and Alex Wilson met with Barry Bannan before Wednesday’s clash with Middlesbrough on Friday evening for the cheque presentation.

Wednesday have worked closely with Bluebell Wood for several years, visiting the hospice annually for the Owls’ Blue and White Christmas Day charity visits.

The charity provide palliative care for children and young adults, and support to families to create lasting memories for people going through the toughest of times.
