Jos Luhukay pointed to crucial moments in the game as the Owls lost 3-0 at QPR on Tuesday night.
Had Lucas Joao’s header found the net and not the post with the hosts leading 1-0, Luhukay says the outcome in West London may have been different.
The Wednesday boss also believes his side should have been awarded a penalty when Angel Rangel caught Daniel Pudil with a stray boot in the area.
He said: “There are crucial moments in every game and in this one I think there were two.
“Lucas hits the post with the header and little more than a minute later, QPR have another goal.
“Then a few minutes later I think we should receive a penalty because Daniel Pudil has a cut down his face that requires the doctor’s help. That play is dangerous in my opinion.
“But let me be clear, we did not lose this game because of a referee decision. We lost because we could not keep the ball well enough, our transitions were not good enough and we were beaten by the better side.”
