Fernando Forestieri has been ruled out for the coming weeks with a hamstring injury.
The forward sustained the injury during the final stages of the Owls’ victory over Bristol City just before break.
A scan last week revealed the extent of the damage and Jos Luhukay says Wednesday will be without the 28-year-old, explaining:
“Fernando Forestieri is injured and is not available for the next few weeks.
“He got a hamstring problem in the last few minutes against Bristol City and last week he had a scan and the result is that he is unavailable for a few weeks.
“So Fernando, we can't think of him for the next few games, the same with Marco Matias.
“Marco and Fernando give the team a lot of quality and both are good players and very creative.
“We miss them now so we must have solution. Hopefully we don’t wait too long for them to come back. We need solutions in the next few games.”
