Non-League Day 2018

10 October 2018

The Owls are supporting Non-League Day 2018 on Saturday 13 October, asking supporters to back their local lower league sides.

The international break is upon us this weekend but there is still plenty of domestic football being played up and down the country.

The Owls are resting up before our next match against Middlesbrough on Friday 19 October, but locally there are still plenty of games for Wednesdayites to enjoy.

The world’s second oldest football team, Hallam FC, face Charnock Richard at Sandygate, the world’s oldest football ground.

Elsewhere, Swallownest FC are at home to Garstang, Kiveton Park face Rossington Main Reserves and Staveley Miners Welfare play Silsden.

Other nearby fixtures include Penistone Church against Eccleshill United and Worksop Town versus Maltby Main.

Young Owls goalkeeper Dan Wallis is also available to feature for loan club Frickley Athletic, who play away against Skelmersdale United.

Non-League Day is an annual campaign to promote local, volunteer-led football.

The annual occasion gives supporters of league clubs the chance to enjoy a different football experience whilst backing local teams.
