Rice named in 'The 11'

31 October 2018

Young Owls defender Isaac Rice has been named in League Football Education’s ‘The 11’ for October.

‘The 11’ acknowledges the football and academic progress of Under-18 players, as well as other factors, including involvement in community or charity-based initiatives.

Under-18s skipper Rice has been in fine form for Andy Holdsworth’s side this season, and they currently sit at the top of the table.

Rice was named in the Owls’ matchday squad against Leeds this season after impressing manager Jos Luhukay with his displays for Wednesday’s younger teams.

Dan Potts, head of education at the Owls, said: “Isaac sets high standards at the club on and off the pitch.

”He has led by example as Wednesday’s Under-18s skipper, showing a terrific attitude on the pitch, and in the classroom, that has led to great success in all aspects of his apprenticeship.

“He has a mature approach to his studies and has achieved Distinction in all but one of his assignments so far on the Extended Diploma, while he has almost completed the NVQ and coaching ahead of schedule, too.”

Well done, Isaac!
