Owls stars Tom Lees and Liam Palmer attended a Show Racism the Red Card event at Hillsborough on Thursday to educate youngsters on the importance of inclusiveness.
The Wednesday duo took to the top table in the Charlton Suite to answer questions from local school children about racism, on and off the football pitch.
Dozens of youngsters came to Hillsborough to take part in a full day of workshops designed to educate and raise awareness on racism.
Five primary schools were represented at the event: Greengate Lane, Greenhill, Wharncliffe Side, Lound and Hatfield Academy.
Owls skipper Lees said: “It’s important that as a club we embrace this message and don’t accept racism in any way.
“Sheffield Wednesday is a family club that welcomes people from all races and backgrounds and we want to promote inclusiveness.”
Defender Palmer added: “It’s vital that children are educated on this subject.
“I’ve been to events like this in the past, and if we as players can help get this message across to children then it’s a very positive thing.”
