Marco Matias produced arguably his most impressive performance to date on Saturday as the Owls triumphed 2-1 at Aston Villa.
The Portuguese was on the scoresheet alongside Stephen Fletcher, with Wednesday putting down the ideal marker for the visit of table-topping Yorkshire rivals Leeds on Friday night.
And Matias insists both he and his team mates are looking no further ahead than the White Rose derby under the Hillsborough lights.
He said: “It is important to focus on just the one game at the one time. The Championship is a very busy division, the games are very quick.
“We played very well at Aston Villa, we got a very good result and this was pleasing because we know we did not do ourselves justice a few days earlier at Nottingham Forest.
“But it is one game only and we must take the positives of this result into the Leeds game on Friday.
“We can only focus on game by game, step by step. This is the same for all the individuals and the group as a whole.”
