Keep on our positive direction

27 September 2018

In-form Wednesday v table toppers Leeds United, Yorkshire derby, live TV broadcast and the biggest Hillsborough crowd of the season so far anticipated…

All the ingredients are there for Friday’s S6 showdown.

Wednesday are looking to build on Saturday’s superb win over Aston Villa on the road and the recent good form of four wins from six.

Meanwhile Leeds, who have set the pace in the Championship, are aiming to bounce back from their maiden defeat of the season at the weekend.

“The number one of the league at the moment come to us but we have our own strengths at home with our fans behind us,” Jos Luhukay said.

“We know it’s a derby and the importance of this game to the fans. For us, it is a challenge to go further on our positive direction.

“We have good form going into the game with four wins from the last six and at home we are very strong to come to good results.”

A victory would see Wednesday jump into the play-off positions and with spirits high on the training ground this week, Luhukay continued:

“We are very happy that we played a good game at the weekend but now we must have the focus new.

“Leeds have had a fantastic opening to the season, the team have confidence and trust and maybe last week was a small mistake perhaps, but we know the quality.

“We know how they are playing and we must have the answers tomorrow.

"We will go out and give 100% with our fans right behind us, we must enjoy the game but at full time it must be with a good result.”
