Adam Reach said everyone at the club is thinking of Andy Kalinins and his family following the recent passing of his wife Hayley.
The entire Wednesday team ran to the touchline after Reach’s goal against Leeds on Friday evening to hold up a shirt reading ‘Kalinins’, with the number one on the back, to show unanimous support for the Owls’ fitness coach and his family.
Reach said: “We spoke to the kitman Ash about doing something.
“We just thought it was nice, we were thinking about doing it at Villa but we thought with this game being on the TV it would be a nice touch.
“We miss Andy and we understand why he is away from the club and unfortunately Hayley lost the battle, but he’s always in our thoughts because he’s part of the team.
“Hopefully he was watching, because it would be nice for him to know that we are all thinking of him during this tough period.
“We’ll do anything to help him through this.”
