Sheffield Wednesday are backing Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a Coffee Morning at Hillsborough.
The event will take place in the club’s 1867 Lounge on Thursday 27 September from 9.00am until 12 noon.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer.
The charity ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan, with the total last year alone raising over £27 million.
We'll have cake and coffee available for a small donation to Macmillan Cancer Support and anybody wishing to join in and bring their own cakes to help raise vital funds are welcome to do so.
The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990, where guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process.
Since then, Coffee Mornings have raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
The event takes place at a poignant time within the SWFC family following the sad news on Wednesday regarding the wife of Owls’ fitness coach Andy Kalinins, Hayley.
The mum of four lost her battle with cancer, which she had fought against since diagnosis in 2011.
Our thoughts are with Andy’s family and friends during this difficult time.
