200 Owls appearances up for Lees

10 April 2019

Owls captain Tom Lees posted his 200th appearance for the club on Tuesday evening.

As Wednesday inflicted a heavy 3-0 defeat on Nottingham Forest, it was a special occasion for Lees who also celebrated a double centenary of appearances.

The 28-year-old joined the Owls in July 2014 and made his debut away at Brighton on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign.

Since then, Lees has gone on to make that central defensive berth his own and proven to be a fantastic addition to the club, with his consistent displays and reliability at the back.

Lees was a mainstay in defence for Wednesday as the club equalled the clean sheet record (17) two seasons running in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

It was befitting that the former Leeds man notched his latest landmark along with another shutout at Hillsborough on Tuesday against Forest.

Wednesday have kept nine clean sheets from the previous 14 league outings.

Congratulations Tom!
