The Owls Under-23s rounded off their campaign with a 2-0 win over QPR at Harlington Sports Ground on Monday afternoon.
Two goals from Preslav Borukov sealed the win for Neil Thompson’s side, which included returning midfield man Kieran Lee, who played 66 minutes of the Wednesday victory.
Matt Penney also stored 71 minutes under the belt while Ash Baker played the full 90.
After an even start to the contest, Borukov broke the deadlock after 20 minutes and that proved a key moment in the game as Wednesday went on to dominate thereafter.
Borukov doubled the Owls’ lead and his tally on 58 minutes to put the visitors in a commanding position.
The pressure continued to come from Wednesday as Baker forced a good save from R’s goalkeeper Tyla Dickinson and Borukov agonisingly missed out on his hat-trick when his left-footed strike hit the upright.
A positive way to finish the season for our Under-23s, who ran out comfortable winners.
