WAWAW Fun Day full details

11 April 2019

This coming weekend marks two significant dates on the Wednesday calendar.

On Saturday, of course, the Owls take the short hop north to face Yorkshire rivals Leeds in the Championship at Elland Road.

Then on Sunday, all those of a blue and white persuasion are invited here to Hillsborough as we throw open our doors for the second WAWAW Fun Day!

Following the success of last year’s event, the club are once more hosting a special occasion for all the family in S6.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri, manager Steve Bruce and the players - plus mascots Ozzie and Barney - will be in attendance as we welcome Wednesdayites of all ages into our home and behind the scenes.

A range of activities will be taking place throughout the day, on and off the pitch! Here’s a snapshot of what to expect on Sunday:

- Sheffield Wednesday Market Place beneath the South Stand outside the players’ entrance and beyond

- Ground Tours, which are now fully booked, from 11.00am through to 4.00pm

- Afternoon tea in Dooleys

- FIFA ’19 football tournament in the 1867 Lounge – there is still time to take part!

- On the pitch, hundreds of children will take to the Hillsborough turf and enjoy sessions held by our community team.

Crossbar challenge will follow before the Community Cup final where both teams will have a very special manager! Finally, the Owls’ staff take on the fans in a match that ends the day.

Elsewhere, the North Stand car park will be packed with free activities, including:

- Human Table Football

- Speed Radar

- Cage football

- Trampolines

- For just £1 a go, fans can test themselves on Interactive Football or try to crack the code on The Vault, with the top three players in the frame to win a signed shirt, signed ball or Family Ticket

- Traditional fairground games will also be housed in the North Stand car park, costing just £1 for the chance to earn tokens redeemed for kids’ prizes in the Prize Shack

- Delicious street food will be available in the same area, while the North and South Stand car park host beer tents selling real ales

We hope you can all join us for what promises to be a fabulous family day….WAWAW!
