The Owls will be looking to head into the international break on a high by posting their third win on home soil.
After two wins from two at Hillsborough so far, should Lee Bullen’s side continue that winning run this weekend, Wednesday will be able to reflect on a hugely positive start to the season.
But the visit of QPR this weekend will undoubtedly have its difficulties and the unpredictable nature of the Championship is always something to be wary of, as Bullen explained:
“You want to go into the international break on a high. This weekend’s result either way is the difference between a very good start or a steady start.
“We have got a game against QPR, and I’m sure Mark will be honest and say they’ve had some fabulous performances and some disappointing performances.
“You never quite know what you might get in the Championship.
“A team can go out and lose 5-0 one week but come back strong the next and win, you just never know.
“It’s all about us focusing on what we need to do and picking the 11 we feel can go out and get the right result. Same for the 18 as well so if we need to bring on substitutes, they can come on and help us out.
“One thing that is for sure is our subs have been great and in every game we’ve played, they’ve given us a lift.”
He added: “We have a fabulous, fabulous fanbase and they expect performances at home, victories at home and when that doesn’t happen you can understand there will be disappointment.
“But I think we have got the players who have been here long enough and know what the atmosphere at Hillsborough is like.
“I’m sure they will be able to go out there and handle that expectation level no problem and put on a good performance.
"We have started well at home but there is always room for improvement. We want to dominate more, make passes for progression not just possession."
