Wharncliffe on side!

7 February 2019

Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri visited Wharncliffe Side Primary School on Thursday morning for the club’s #PassOnPlastic campaign.

The Owls Community Programme announced last week they would be going into local schools to educate youngsters on how plastic harms the environment, particularly the oceans, and they were joined by the Argentine striker.

Fernando took part in a task to design a brand new water bottle with the children, before taking to the floor for a Q&A.

Hallam FM were in attendance to speak with the 29-year-old on how he feels about going into the community to represent the Owls.

He said: “I think it is important that we do this.

“For me, I love to see the smiles on the children’s faces, it’s a very nice feeling.”

Before leaving, Fernando made sure to say hello to every other class in the school, with the youngsters taking full advantage of the chance for a photo and autograph.

Thank you to Wharncliffe Side Primary for having us and being a part of our #PassOnPlastic campaign.
