Farmer scoops LFE Goal of the Month award

17 January 2019

Owls Under-18s midfielder Lewis Farmer has scooped the League Football Education Goal of the Month award for December.

The midfielder attracted 43% of the vote for his fine strike against Stoke City in the FA Youth Cup, after making the shortlist of eight strikes from around the country during December.

The 16-year-old’s fantastic finish against the Potters in the cup clash at Hillsborough beat off stiff competition as Owls fans rallied to secure the award for Farmer.

Having collected the ball on the edge of the box, Farmer then skilfully turned inside and smashed past the goalkeeper Nathan Broome.

Farmer is part of Andy Holdsworth’s Under-18s who are flying high in the Professional Development League this season.
