But Wednesday will be aiming for a strong response this weekend when they face South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
The Reds are ninth in the table with just one win in their previous seven outings, though defeated Birmingham (0-1) and drew with Sheffield United (2-2) in their last two fixtures.
Back in October, the Owls inflicted a heavy 6-0 loss on Barnsley away from home.
