Sheffield Wednesday will host La Liga side RCD Espanyol in a pre-season friendly this summer.
The four-time Copa del Rey winners will visit Hillsborough on Sunday 28 July for a 3.00pm kick-off.
The warm-up fixture with the Periquitos will be Wednesday’s only pre-season outing on home soil ahead of the Championship curtain-raiser at Reading on Saturday 3 August.

In terms of club honours, Espanyol most recently triumphed in the Copa del Rey in 2005/06 and gained qualification for the 2006/07 UEFA Cup as a result, where they finished as runners up after losing on penalties in the final to Sevilla.
