92 in 92 for the Children's Hospital

13 June 2019

Three South Yorkshire police officers will be attempting to visit all 92 Football League stadiums in just 92 hours to raise funds for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Jamie Henderson, James Thorpe and Wednesdayite Scott Sarson are aiming to raise £25,000 for the hospital by driving and cycling the 2,400-mile journey.

Setting off on Friday 12 July, the trio will begin their journey at Barnsley’s Oakwell, finishing four days later at Hillsborough and Bramall Lane.

Owls supporter Sgt Sarson said he is taking part in the challenge to say thank you to the medical staff at Sheffield Children’s Hospital who supported his daughter Lydia, who was born with a hole in her heart.

He said: "For the first few years of her life, we had countless trips to Sheffield Children's Hospital and although it was the hardest time in our lives, it was made bearable by the fantastic staff and facilities.

"We are so lucky to have the hospital on our doorstep and this is part of us saying thank you and making sure that other families and children can benefit the way we certainly did."

Best of luck, guys! We’ll see you at Hillsborough on Tuesday 16 July!
