Bring a Pound to the Ground!

13 March 2019

The Owls are delighted to welcome local charity Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB) to Hillsborough on Saturday and spread the word about the fantastic work they do supporting blind and partially sighted adults and children in Sheffield.

SRSB's dedicated volunteers will stand, whatever the weather, around the ground prior to kick-off against Blackburn and we are behind the charity’s campaign to put in your pounds and help make a difference to over 3,600 clients and their families Living with sight loss.

Volunteers will be stationed around perimeter of the stadium before the game and SRSB are asking supporters to 'Bring a Pound to the Ground'.

Donations are entirely optional and there is no obligation to do so, but if every supporter is able to donate just £1, then a life changing amount would be raised to not only support people with sight loss but help raise awareness on eye health and sight loss prevention - a staggering 50% of sight loss is preventable.

SRSB's mascot Ellie will also be taking part in a penalty shootout with Ozzie Owl at half time and would like to thank you for your donations!

Further information on SRSB can be found at srsb.org.uk, by email at: info@srsb.org.uk or call: 0114 272 2757.
