Steve Bruce says he is looking forward to the challenge of leading Sheffield Wednesday into a new chapter.
It is set to be a summer of big significance for the Owls as Bruce looks to rebuild and shape the squad to his liking ahead of the new campaign.
Two years of play-off finishes has been followed by two years of frustration for Wednesday, but the Owls boss is keen to bring success to Hillsborough and has quickly got to work after the season’s conclusion.
“I’ve enjoyed it, I’ve enjoyed working with it and getting back to work,” he told swfc.co.uk.
“I’ll continue to do that, I’ve enjoyed it immensely and I have to thank the supporters for how they have welcomed me to the club. They have been terrific.
“We all have a big challenge ahead and I’m looking forward to it – it’s one of the reasons why I joined really.
“The club nearly did it a few years ago and the vast majority are still here, so it’s time for new legs, it’s time for a new chapter.
“It’s always difficult because they have been terrific, we have got some good players here but I do think it’s time for a change.”
