Julian Börner has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.
The popular defender has hit the ground running with Wednesday since his summer switch to Hillsborough.
The 28-year-old has featured 14 times this season for the Owls, four of which came last month along with his first goal for the club away at Cardiff.
Börner faces competition for the award from Juninho Bacuna (Huddersfield), Tom Bradshaw (Millwall) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham).
The winner will be announced on Friday.
