Owls captain Tom Lees is set to feature for the Under-23s on Monday.
The skipper has been sidelined since late August with a hamstring injury but is back in full training at Middlewood Road and set to take the next step on his road to recovery.
The Wednesday Under-23s travel to Burnley on Monday for the PDL2 clash.
Kick-off at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium is at 2.00pm.
Manager Garry Monk said: “A few senior players will be playing. Tom is down to play, so is Ash Baker and possibly one or two others.
“Tom is going to need a period of building up his football fitness but we’re delighted to have him back out on the pitches.
“It’s just about building his football fitness now and bringing him back into contention.”
