Fernando Forestieri will be available for selection on Friday as the Owls make the long trip to Cardiff.
The Wednesday ace has served his six-match suspension and moves back into contention for a place in the squad.
The 29-year-old played 90 minutes on Sunday for the Under-23s, as the Owls’ youth side eased to a 5-1 win over ten-man Hull City in the PDL2 clash.
Wednesday’s Championship meeting with the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Friday (7.45pm).
Speaking on Forestieri earlier this month, Owls boss Garry Monk said: “He needs to put himself in contention for when he comes back.
"He knows what is expected of him, and what’s needed. I had a really good chat with him, was really clear with him, and we want Fernando Forestieri at his best."
